Japan records lowest birth rate


 

Annual birth and death rates in Japan have been recorded since 1899. That is, for 124 years, the count of how many children were born and how many people died in the country was kept.

According to the country's Ministry of Health, 799,238 children were born in Japan in 2022. Compared to 2021, which is 5.1 percent less. However, although the birth rate has decreased, the death rate has increased by 8.9 percent. Last year, 1 million 58 thousand people died in the country.

2 killed in Russian attack on Zaporizhia: Ukraine
