The operations commander of the joint forces of Ukraine has been dismissed.


This was announced by the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky in a decree on Sunday local time. Major General Eduard Mykhailovich Moskalov was appointed to the post in March last year. Major General Eduard Mykhailovich Moskalov was appointed to the post last March.

However, Zelensky did not provide an explanation for Moskalov's dismissal. It is the latest in a series of recent leadership changes in his administration.


Ukrainian authorities are conducting anti-corruption investigations across the country. Many senior and important people have been relieved of their duties after the investigation found evidence of corruption. However, it is not yet clear whether Moskalov's dismissal was for corruption.

2 killed in Russian attack on Zaporizhia: Ukraine

  At least two people were killed in a Russian attack on an apartment building in the much-discussed Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia. Acting mayor of the city, Anatly Kurtev, said this on social media on Thursday. He also said that the five-storey building was almost completely destroyed in last night's attack. Incidentally, on February 24 of last year, Ukraine fell under the influence of Russian aggression. Moscow has stepped up attacks to mark the anniversary of the war.

U.S. officials believe China may be providing Russia nonlethal military assistance in Ukraine war

  The US believes China may be providing non-lethal military assistance to Russia for use in Ukraine, according to four US officials familiar with the matter, and the administration is concerned they are considering sending lethal aid. While China has provided some help to Russia, including parroting Russian disinformation campaigns about the war and promoting Russian false pretexts about the war, this is more tangible assistance for use by Russian troops in Ukraine, according to sources familiar with the matter. The officials declined to provide specifics about the non-lethal military assistance, but said it could include gear for the spring offensive like uniforms or even body armor.  A spokesperson for National Security Council declined to comment.  In the weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine, senior US officials including President Biden and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan warned Beijing not to provide material support to Russia for the war or there would be consequences.
