Kadyrov wants to create a mercenary army

 


Ramzan Kadyrov, a Chechen leader close to President Vladimir Putin, wants to create a private army similar to Russia's mercenary group Wagner Group.

Ramzan Kadyrov said in a Telegram post that the way Wagner's army is fighting the war in Ukraine is unprecedented. Their success indicated the need to have their own military company. So he also wants to create such an army in the future.


The Wagner Group is a private military contractor group with close ties to the Kremlin, who pay to fight for the Russian military. It was established in 2014. Currently, a large part of this force is fighting in disputed parts of Ukraine. Russia has never directly acknowledged the military's participation in the war. He said that the Russian government army could not make a special advantage in the fight. But the way Wagner's army is fighting is worth watching. He also wants to create such an army in the future. who will compete with the Wagner group.


This Chechen leader said that he will focus on creating a new army only after his duty to the country is over.


It should be noted that since 2007, Ramzan Kadyrov has been the ruler of Russia's southern Chechnya Republic. Vladimir Putin announced him as the president of Chechnya that year. Since then, Kadyrov has been known as a staunch supporter of Putin.


On the other hand, since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24 last year, Ramzan Kadyrov's Chechen forces have been fighting against the Ukrainian forces together with the Russian forces.
