Argentina's World Cup winning captain Lionel Messi has been selected as FIFA Footballer of the Year. Messi was elected the best of French forward Killian Mbappe and Karim Benzema after winning the title of the Qatar World Cup in 2022 after 5 years.
Lionel Messi was named as the winner at the 'Best FIFA Football Awards' in Paris on Monday (February 26th). FIFA President Gianni Infantino later handed over the FIFA the Best Men's Footballer Award to Argentine Super Star Lionel Messi.
Messi got 12 points for winning the award. Mbappe got 5 points. Benzema Point is third in third place. Then Luca Modrich (25), Arling Haland (25), Sadio means (3), Julian Alvarez (3), Ashraf Hakimi (3), Neymar (3).
