The American billionaire Elon Musk is back on the list of the world's richest people again. The SpaceX owner regained the top spot after more than two months on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bernard Arnault, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the French luxury house Louis Vuitton, overtook Musk in December last year on Bloomberg's list of billionaires. He held the top spot for over two months. However, due to the increase in the stock market index of Tesla, the manufacturer of electric cars, Musk has returned to the top position. As of Monday, Musk's net worth was about $187 billion, surpassing Bernard Arnault's $185.3 billion. According to a Bloomberg report, Tesla's stock price has increased by 70 percent this year. However, Musk's net worth lost more than $200 billion between November and December last year. This is considered the biggest loss of wealth in recent history. By the end of last year, he took ownership of Twitter for 44 billion US dollars. After taking charge, he fired one employee after another and caused widespread criticism.
