Sangram Online Desk: At least 10 people were killed and 25 injured when a bus fell into a gorge in the northeast of Algeria on Friday. The country's civil protection officials said this.
Sources said the bus was on its way from Algiers to Tikjada when it fell into a 150-meter-deep ravine near the town of El Asnam. It is a hill resort which is very popular with tourists.
All the injured were taken to the nearby Buira Hospital.
The Tikjada mountain region is a very popular holiday destination for Algerians. After the heavy snowfall in recent weeks, there is a lot of crowding.
According to the National Safety Agency, the main cause of road accidents in the country is the non-compliance of public transport drivers and the reckless speed of motorists.
