Aero India 2023: US surprises with two state-of-the-art B-1B bombers


 The United States is giving a surprise at Aero India 2023. One after another Taklagano fighter jets were brought for display. The US claims to have brought the largest ever contingent to Aero India 2023. New additions to the US inventory are two B-1B Lancers. It is a fighter aircraft with the latest technology.


B-1B Lancer - A supersonic heavy bomber. Able to conduct global missions from its base in the United States. The B-1B Lancer is the backbone of the United States' long-range bomber force. The US can carry the largest payload of any type of weapon, both guided and unguided.

The B-1B Lancer, however, came to India earlier. It first landed in India on 3 February 2021 during the Aero Show. At that time a fly-by was conducted on the opening day of the exhibition. Indian Air Force Tejas fighter jets escorted it.


The B-1B Lancer is commonly referred to as the Bone (B-One). India has repeatedly appealed to the US to bring back the fighter jet of Aero India 2023. The US brought the aircraft back to India for the second time because of its strategic partnership with India.


Speaking about the arrival of the B-1B at Aero India 2023, US Air Force Deputy Under Secretary for International Affairs Major General Dulian C. Sitter said – The B-1B is an important fighter aircraft. The B-1B was given options for combat commanders and senior leaders. This is a positive step towards greater integration with our allies and partners across the region.


Rear Admiral Michael Becker expressed his delight at seeing the B-1B make its second appearance in India. The US defense attache in New Delhi said the bombers were flying from South Dakota to Guam and then to India. Traveling from the US to the Indian Ocean is a long mission. But this mission was executed to participate in India's Aero Show. This initiative is to maintain good relations between India and USA. He also said that the two countries want to work together.

2 killed in Russian attack on Zaporizhia: Ukraine

  At least two people were killed in a Russian attack on an apartment building in the much-discussed Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia.
